Sister Cities 2026 Young Artists and Authors Showcase
Sister Cities is proud to present the 2026 Young Artists and Authors Showcase, inviting all youth ages 14 -18 in Williamson County to express their creativity through the inspiring theme “Voices of Today, Visions of Tomorrow.”
Through visual art, literature, photography, and music, participants are encouraged to share their unique perspectives on the world they live in today and the one they imagine for tomorrow.
The Showcase highlights the importance of cultural exchange, creativity, and global understanding—values at the heart of Sister Cities International’s mission. By amplifying the voices of young artists and authors, the program fosters dialogue, empathy, and innovation across borders.
Each participating student artist must be between 12 and 18 years of age by April 1, 2026.
All entries must be the original design and artwork of the entrant. Only new pieces inspired by the theme should be submitted. When describing their artwork in the application form, students are encouraged to discuss how their local communities and/or international cities are approaching this year’s theme.
Students must submit their artwork to Sister Cities of Franklin and Williamson County by Monday, March 2, 2026, through the Google Form or sistercitiesfranklintn@gmail.com.
Judging:
A panel will judge entries based on originality, composition, and theme interpretation. Author’s name and name of school are kept confidential until judging has been completed. The judges’ decision will be final. The top five articles selected will be sent to Sister Cities International for the international competition.
Awards:
Local Competition: First, second, and third places will be chosen among all categories, and cash prizes will be awarded by Sister Cities of Franklin and Williamson County to the students. 1st place will receive $250, 2nd place - $150; and third place - $75.
The top five winners in each category will be entered in the International Competition.
